Needleworkers Lord Donato Favro

The next meeting will be at fighter practice on Wednesday, the 10th of September.

Foresters: Lady Ella de Caleys.
Arylana
van Wyck reporting: A wonderful meeting yesterday, 19 people, talking about period backpacking and camping. There will be a meeting at falling leaves.

Company of Bowmen:

Peter the Red reporting: Kendrick is moving away from Carolingia, so the company needs to select a new head.

Events:

Falling Leaves: Meg: Everything is set. 130 people pre-registered.

Morwenna: I am running dayboard, I know I am going to need assistants. Details are still being worked out, but I will need people the day of, and likely in advance doing prepwork.

Pandaulf: Thrown weapons is happening. Open throwing all day, possibly royal rounds, loaner gear available. Symon and Deirdre would like help from marshals, and for setup and teardown.

Cathain: Parking needs help, it’s a royal event and equestrian is happening, so it will be a little complicated.

Magdalena: There will be fencing. Standard rapier tourney in the morning. Cut and thrust tourney. Melee in the afternoon. If anyone is interested in MOL the tourney in the morning, I could use the help, although I can get by without.

Peter: Archery is happening.

Crown: Lady Aaradyn Ghyoot:

We’re having crown tourney Nov 1 at Topsfield fairground. This is an indoor site, but it is New England in November in an un- or minimally insulated building, so garb appropriately. And bring cushions or other things to pad bleachers, personal chairs are not permitted unless required for mobility reasons.

Water bottles are permitted, however there is no outside food, with an exception for the royals and fighters who need activity food. If you need to bring food, tailgate at your car.
No liquids on the turfed area other than plain water.

The site is handicapped and ADA accesible. The schedule is up on the event page. Paypal will be opened up shortly. Adult members $25, non-members $35, 17 and under free.

I am working with the site to have a better staffed and more robust snack bar, they weren’t expecting our numbers in 2023.

Most volunteer roles are filled, but we can always use people for setup and teardown.

We only have the site through 7 this year, so we do need to get out cleanly.

We need an event stewards handbook. After this event, I will be working on that with other event stewards.

Justin: We should get together the autocrats round table again, and work with a firm agenda. We do this many times, but we don’t maintain it well.

Aradyn: We need to get it out of committee, and somewhere accesible.

Unnamed Dance Event: Lady Deirdre Grenewode

Dance event is in the financial committee, hopefully it can move along. I should know what other volunteers I will need soon. It’s planned for March 7, due to venue availability.

SCA Announcments:

?: Coronation is coming up Oct 11 in Quintavia.

?: Labors of Quintavia, Labor Day at Camelot. This is a relaxed practice like thing. There is a bounce house. Garb optional and potluck. Any archery and throwing will be novelty, and away from the bounce house.

Frithuric: Sometime after falling leaves, I am going to hold an online thing where I write award recommendations, and encourage other people to write them.

Fiore: Because Isabel and Gavin are not here, I get to talk about them. These were representatives of the Kingdom and Carolingia at Pennsic, and did well. I believe everyone won their categories. My champion of knightly foot combat served as the captain of the unbelts. At the Baronial fencing competition, the Baronial champion came in second, and was complemented on the beauty of her fencing style.

Cathain: Isabel got a perfect score for A&S champs.

At falling leavers: Remy to the Laurel and ? To the chiv.

Dierdre: For coronation, register for dayboard separately from the event, this is a box lunch. The menu is on the website. There is a vegetarian option and a meat option. The meat option is English ?th century, the vegetarian is Indian 16th. There’s 7 snacks plus the main per box.

?: Quincy fabric craft practice is starting up again, this Thursday around 7:30, at the main library.

Frithuric: The Carolingian list ropes we used for crown are not in good shape. Between now and crown we would like to build a set of list ropes, which would then be partially distributed to surrounding baronies to share the load of storage.

Non-SCA announcements:

Fiore: Frithuric is having a birthday this Saturday at 5, we’ll be at Notch brewery.

Justin: Signups for Intercon will be in November.

Eeowyn: This year, there are municipal elections in MA. There may be primaries in Sept. Pay attention and go out and vote.
