The SCA has a wide variety of combat/martial recreation. We can provide loaner armor and weapons to get you started, and teach you how to make or find your own for the perfect fit. Regularly scheduled practices are listed on the Calendar.
Here in Carolingia, you can find organized practices for the following:
- Armored Combat – Recreate the glory of a medieval tournament with sword, shield, and spear! Reach out to our Knight Marshal with any questions regarding attending practice.
- Rapier Combat – Live out your swashbuckling dreams with Renaissance-style fencing! Reach out to our Marshal of Fence with any questions attending practice.
- Archery – Loose your inner Robin Hood! Reach out to our Marshal of Archery with any questions regarding attending practice.
- The Carolingian Company of Bowmen is believed to be the oldest archery guild in the SCA. Find more information about the Company here.
- Thrown Weapons – THUNK! Axes, spears, knives, and more. Reach out to our Marshal of Thrown Weapons with any questions regarding attending practice.
There is also a growing set of people who are researching and recreating equestrian activities. Carolingia doesn’t have equestrian practices at present, but you can find out more about them at this website.
