Join us in Carlisle for the August gathering of Carolingian Foresters. We’ll talk about what’s required in a kit for a medieval pilgrimage/overnight outing, and practice making shelters. If you have them, bring a tarp (10×10 is a good size), two sticks about 4-6′ tall OR trekking poles, string/cordage, and (optional) tent stakes. (While wood sticks & stakes are more period, they may not adhere to Leave No Trace principles, depending on your situation.)
WHEN: Sunday, August 24, immediately following archery practice, 1-5 pm
WHERE: 94 Laurelwood Dr, Carlisle (home of Peter the Red & Arlyana)
WHY: Learn something new, spend time outdoors with friends, gather for forester camaraderie
WEAR: Forester garb if you have it, other garb if you don’t, or mundane (regular) clothing if you don’t have that. Just come!
BRING: camp chair, feast gear, food to share, bug spray, sun lotion, whatever you need for the activities you want to do (see description above)
PARKING: on the roadside near the driveway
Please reach out to Ella de Caleys, Keeper of the Royal Forest of Carolingia, with any questions.
