Foresters

The Royal Foresters of Carolingia are based on the medieval foresters that protected the forests of medieval England from outlaws and poachers. As a local chapter of the East Kingdom Foresters Guild, we are an Arts and Sciences guild that studies outdoor living, survival, and camping.

We like to…

  • meet monthly for informal backyard gatherings across Carolingia and beyond, where we practice skills like primitive fire-starting, outdoor cooking, and more.
  • go on occasional “saunters,” hikes in medieval garb on local trails, doing a little foraging and plant identification along the way.
  • enjoy SCA camping events, often forming in a forester encampment to share the experience.
