Chatelaine Lady Patience Faircloth
Apologies for not having the June newcomer night.
July newcomer night will be next Monday (right after GNEW). The topic will be “how to reenter the mundane world after SCA events.”
Carolingia no longer needs to look for a deputy Chatelaine, but a full Chatelaine. Patience will be stepping down at the end of the month. Please feel free to contact Patience if you are interested, or just want to know what the job entails.
Aaradyn: Thanks Patience for her serviced.
Golden Gryphon Pursuivant Richard Heyworth:
No Herald office hours this month. Richard will have his stuff at GNEW so please see him there if you are interested in heraldry. He will also try to attend guild meetings and practices. If you need a heraldry consultation, but can’t meet him there, reach out through e-mail.
Knight Marshal Lady Aaradyn Gyoot speaking for Valerian of Somerset
Framingham practices continue on Wednesday nights. Please remember to check your auth cards before Pennsic.
The fourth A&S display just came out last week due to technical difficulties. Please take a look at it.
Web Minister Magister Symon of Barnesdale
Chronicler Master Gunðormr Dengir:
Dance Lady Aelia Fortunata
It’s been a while since we’ve had dance. We have been seeing a downtrend in dancers, even before the pandemic, and we would like to counter that. There will be a survey coming out asking what prevents you from coming to dance practice.

Marshal Fence Lord Zohane Faber
We had a great tournament yesterday. It was an interesting format.

Waytes are taking a hiatus for July and August, and will resume in September. To be announced towards the beginning of Sept.
Low Company Master Justin du Coeur
Low Company met at Rapier championships and had a good meeting. Low Company will not meet in August, but you can play games at Pennsic.
Aaradyn: My camp at GNEW will have some games.
Justin: I will have games at well.
Calligraphers Lady Aaradyn Ghyoot
Rapier Championships Lord Zohane Faber
The weather was perfect. The bathrooms did not flood, this was good. 31 attendees. 2 non-members. 10 fencers. Katla and Matilda ran gate. The site cost $350 including insurance. Income, after NMS, was $310, a $40 deficit will be blamed on Covid. No children were present :(.
Falling Leaves Lady Katla of Viborg for Lady Patience Faircloth
We have lost the list of people who were interested in producing box lunches. Please reach out again, as there is information ready to send out.
50 Year No updates expected for the rest of the summer.
Her Excellency: The finalist who did not become the rapier champion received an gorgeous ring made by Zippy, and he has volunteered to make similar items. He is not charging anything for his time, but would appreciate funds for the raw material. $171 for a 6.6 lb bar, approximately half of which would be used for the immediate usage.
Cassandra: It’s possible that rings or similar items could be auctioned to offset the cost.
Ysabel: Maybe pay for a whole bar, and donate a portion to Zippy for his labor.
Frithuric: Do we know how many medallions that amount could make?
Fiore: This was mentioned, but I don’t remember the exact numbers. It seemed reasonable for the price.
Aaradyn: Are we in a position to buy the tin?
Aaradyn: A show of hands?
Irini: If all relevant people will be at GNEW, we can cut a check there.
Frithuric: Gunthorm posted the miniscule to a dropbox which prevented sending a large attachement. This worked well, but the possibility of posting it to the website was mentioned. This would require scrubbing private contact information. Justin: I’m not sure I see an advantage, as the current version of the miniscule is comletely duplicated elsewhere on the website. Frithuric: It would provide an archive.
Aaradyn: Would an e-mail still go out?
Donato: If we were to put the new miniscules on the website, it would be useful to put the historic ones up as well (with necessary redacting if needed).
Simona Bat Leon: Sir Mathias of Quintavia is planning to put in a bid for K&Q Rapier champs for Feb 15 or 25th. An attractive site has been found in Tyngsboro and technically therefore in Carolingia. They are requesting permission to use the site, per kingdom law. There is no request for monetary or co-run assistance, although of course help will be appreciated.
Call for a vote.
Known world Heralds and Scribes is coming up on the weekend of the 22nd-24th. It is virtual. Aaradyn will be teaching a class on creating a missing page scroll. Go. Learn Scribaly (Scribety?) or Heraldy stuff.
