- Spring is here! (shhh, don’t tell it)
- Bylaw Amendments time is here
- Submission window is open now
- Discuss on June 5
- Final drafts due June 10
- Vote on July 10
- 5 Great Carolingian events n the last month. Go Team!
- Officers
- Chatelaine – New people came to the Laurel’s Prize challenge. They had fun, woo!
- Thrown Weapons will be starting next week
- Dance Practice continues through the first week in May, skipping April 20. Thursdays in Brighton
- Heralds
- The submitted heraldry for the Perseus differs from what is in the bylaws. We registered 6 mullets, we use 9 stars
- Nicolette – We registered what we discussed, Justin disagrees.
- Edith points out that the current medallions match the Bylaws, not the registration
- Senechal – We should discuss this on the Perseus list, it’s now a good time to amend the bylaws to match whatever we want or update the heraldic registration
- Metal Drive – Bring in your old site tokens to be melted down into shiny new medallions!
- Activities
- Scribal – Meeting on April 16, Easter. Revere. Project will be whatever, but with a focus on new scribes if you’ve ever wanted to try
- Storytellers – Full day Njal’s Saga Event in Rochester, NY (Aethelmark) njalblog.wordpress.com (October 14th Columbus day weekend)
- Fellowship of Philosophers – We have had several salons on “How to Choose a Coronet”. No conclusions were reached but discussions were had and summaries have been distributed (or will be as soon as the next miniscule is distributed)
- Fighting Schola in Aschehyrst on Sunday 1pm
- Baroness Nicolette
- Colin and Nic are looking for autocrats for 2 events next winter
- Late period dance/dessert. Long lead time since there will be classes on how to make Tudor/Elizabethan garb
- Ambassadorial Event – Non-western persona present themselves to the court with a presentation of something from their homeland.
- In addition, we need to find a new Baronial Performance Championship, perhaps to fit into an upcoming event or a stand-alone event. If you are thinking about preparing, their excellencies are leaning on “bringing a period piece to life”
- Laurels Prize Tourney
- It’s not just about the laurels, there was no tourney, which was perfect
- Colin couldn’t go due to puppy-issues
- They wish to extend their deepest gratitude to Mistress Dreda and the entire staff of the event for creating such magic
- There was Baronial Court, Lady Elana Hynton was inducted into the Moons and Master Avaldr was inducted into the Perseus
- Final Business – The barons serve through the support and loyalty of the Royalty, which makes the Landed Baronness the representative of the King and Queen in their absance. In such, a writ has been handed off to be presented
- Writ for Mistress Dreda to be inducted into the order of the Pelican at Panteria
- Recent Events
- Dreda – We had a Laurels Prize Tourney. 100 people attended a “little bitty narrow event.” We took in over $1200 gross, which more than covered expenses for the event. There were over 20 challenges, and everyone had a great time!
