Baronial Meeting Minutes – February 6, 2017

  • Welcome to February.
  • Colin
    • Nic sends her regrets, is recovering from the Birka plague
    • Thank you Eowyn for your years of running the Quire
  • Officers
    • Carolingian Historian – Newly Eowyn, Master Luke will be stepping down and transferring the archives into the baronial storage locker.
    • Chatelaine – Kingdom office thanks us for our newcomer events, do more!  Demo at Arisia
    • Web Minister – If you have thoughts or opinions, our new web minister would love to hear them, he might even listen.  Looking for new images to put on the site, scroll images are a sample.
  • Activities and Guilds
    • Dance
    • Calligraphers – January was a bust, we are looking for a date to meet that is not a Sunday so as to have less overlap with other things.
    • Waytes – practicing for black rose
    • Quire – Now led by Orlando, talk to him for singing at events.  May be changing the day of the meeting.  If you have opinions, talk to Orlando or Mathilda
  • Other SCA Announcements
    • Fellowship of Philosophers had a small meeting, there will be more meetings, to discuss the process of selecting baron and baroness.  So far 2 salons are scheduled
      • 2-21 Melville Keep, 7pm
      • 2-26 Towers practice site, 2pm
    • June is the next Known World Dance Symposium in Baltimore

    • Laurels Prize Tourney
    • Coronation
      • We’re up to plan G, it’s a Royal Whim(tm)
      • Masonic Hall in New Haven, we’re still running the event as it is no longer a “Baronial” event but a true East Kingdom event.  Thomas of Effingham is still autocrat, contact him to volunteer
