New Excellencies say – Falling leaves was awesome, we had huge attendance so yay!
Officers
Seneschal – 6 months left of Margareta as Seneschal so we should start the process of finding someone new. There is a deputy, Gaius, who has thrown his hat into the ring, but if you are interested or want to know what the job entails, please let Mistress Margreta know. There will be a grand council vote (in January hopefully) after an “ask the candidate” session. The hope is to have a gradual transfer of power with a full handoff in March
Chronicler(Edigth) – I have asked for volunteers and heard nothing, so the arm twisting commences. The job isn’t that hard, but it is required for the Barony to stay barony

Event Planning
Winter Nights – February 9, 2019 (Peregrine).
Site – Proposed at Veezey Park, Groveland
50-100 people expected
Dayboard by Deidre, possible feast based on actual Caroline food
For specific details on the competition see Peregrine
Core staff is mostly in place, plenty of volunteers will be accepted
Questions –
Children? to be researched
Attendance – 20-30 performers, 50-70 audience is a rough estimate. If feast, it will be a separate charge. Questions asked if the pre-reg exceeds the count and research is ongoing
Parking is important to organize
When we last had this event, at Camelot, there was a hard limit on bodies (Michael)
Do we approve? YES
Otters Welcome, Sprint 2019 – Kira
Oh look who volunteered
Thank you all for helping with Falling Leaves
A newcomers event to expose new people
Try to make it more of an artisan’s village with Calligraphy, cooking, etc. Ongoing and hands-on activities throughout the day (yay snacks)
YMCA site where we had the last one (about $500, more if there’s high attendance
Will need volunteers, parking wrangler to prevent a repeat of “last time”
Basically the same proposal as last year, with the date updated to April/May of 2019
Big marketing push, social media etc.
Questions
Verify site availability, they are super excited
We should ping people who’s first event was the last Otter’s Welcome
Do we approve? YES
Battle of the Five Armies – Andreiko
We don’t know where our stone went, we need to find it again
Last weekend of august, 2019(31st, 2 weeks post Pennsic). Same site as last year and same format
Hoping for the same pricing, but need to verify that the site rental is the same
Co sponsor? Tentative yes, but we need a more formal budget to approve
Orlando – last time we partially sponsored and made a bit of profit
Fall Crown??? – Kira
I had a thought, we were able to handle 500 people. We could do fall 2019 crown there. We haven’t had a crown since Brennan won the first time.
We need to check on the site availability, but due to changes to Curia we no longer need to wait for the Heirs to be changed
Questions
Maybe get more people involved in putting the bid together? Will look for at least a co-autocrat and hopefully deputies
Must inform the site that we’re gonna have a “big” event, not like falling leaves 2017
Do we need tents for court to handle the rain?
Lighting, do we need light?
Still hoping to have falling leaves earlier in the fall
Council days: Go and do that thing, figure out if we can
Nicolette – Hoping to rerun Voyages of Discovery in 2020, after she’s had a nap
Other Event Things
Falling Leaves
Final attendance: 557. Profits >$1000. We might make a donation to Kingdom since though it wasn’t a Kingdom Event, the K+Q were there and the kingdom is broke-ish. 120 combatants in the Rose Tournament. YAY!
A Lot Of Awards and we got the sword back!
New Baron and Baroness
New Pelican => Seneschal
Do we need an arts event to choose the next Baronial A/S champ? Possibly maybe something in the winter?
Dreda – Finding event sites is hard. If you know of a site, but we haven’t used or thing you might have a contact at a new site, please drop her a line. We have an online DB of currently known sites, contact Master Justin for more info
