Coronets Nobildonna Fiore Leonetta Bardi and Lord Frithuric Ulman:
Thank you to Astrid for running Otter’s welcome. It was an excellent chance to get together. Particularly the onsite cooking, the deed of arms. Thank you to those who came from other Baronies. (And we still do not have your sheep).
Aaradyn– Carolingia may need a shepherd.
Frithuric– WE MAY look into that.
Etain Volunteers.
Frithuric– We will discuss with you.
Fiore is resident in Østgarðr for the month.
Officers:
Seneschal Lady Aaradyn Gyoot
Welcome to June.
July council will be the 2nd Monday of the month, July 11th, to avoid the 4th.
A sufficiency of the barony will not be attending Pennsic this year, so August council will proceed.
Frithuric asks for a show of hands, and fewer are expecting to attend.
Ascheryst went into dormancy 2 years ago. Kingdom law limits the duration to two years, so unless we object, the kingdom will move forward with dissolving the Canton.
Patience: Is this permanent, or does Ascheryst retain some status?
Eadgyth: Once the canton is dissolved, it is formally no longer in existence. Restarting it would be the equivalent to starting a new Canton.
Patience: I am curious what happens to heraldry and so forth.
Aaradyn: The arms of the Canton are released to the Barony, and can be retained until and unless the barony chooses to release them.
Justin: It is not unusual for groups to dissolve and reform. The reformation often wants to start fresh.
Donato: Do we want to petition members living in the former Canton? Many people have been away for the past to years for external reasons.
Aaradyn: Addressing the council is the first step. E-mail and facebook postings will be the next step.
Justin: Be careful not to pressure people to save it.
Aaradyn: Prior to abeyance, there was no interest in maintaining it. Since people have moved, we will make sure giving people the opportunity to speak up as part of the process.

Chatelaine Lady Patience Faircloth
The next Newcomer night will be next week at 7:30 pm. As a reminder, we have shifted it from the end of the month to the 2nd Monday of the month. Patience is still looking for a Deputy Chatelaine. She is still greatly enjoying the position, but a deputy is extremely useful for distributing the load (and remind Patience to send e-mails when needed).
Golden Gryphon Pursuivant Richard Heyworth:
Thank you to Tasha for voice Heralding at Otter’s. We are always looking for other people who are willing to voice herald. Don’t feel pressured, but if you are intrested please speak up. We would like a list of people to share the role.
No herald office hours. Please let Richard know if you are interested in having him attend your “thing” (practice, whatever) and he will try to attend to work with your attendees.
We would like to have more Baronial heraldry for the encampment at GNEW, if you are interested in producing it, please reach out.
Otters was a very interesting first experience for Gold Key.
Although we have 10 bins of stuff for gold key, but we’re short on the stuff that’s most desirable for newcomers. Especially men and boys mostly want lightweight loose T-Tunics that will fit over clothing. Most of what we have is more fitted stuff and requires changing. If you are intrested in helping to produce more desirable stuff, please get in contact. Veils and fancy headware are popular with some children.
Knight Marshal Cathain speaking for Valerian of Somerset
Framingham practices continue Wednesday nights. North Reading practice will be on June 11. Weekend practices will be on the same type of rotating schedule as last summer, moving around the state to keep one large practice running, rather than multiple small ones. Practice schedule will be announced as far in advance as possible on the Baronial FB page, the Fighters Email list, and the relevant fighting FB pages (e.g. Complete Northern Army).
A reminder that masks are again required for fighting indoors.
Please check your qualification card before Penssic.

Steward Lord Zohane Faber
If you need stuff for your event, please check with me.
If anyone else is interested in stepping up in this role please contact Zohane. While the need for a replacement is not immediate, Zohane would like not to continue it indefinitely. The ideal steward has space to store gear so the Barony does not have to pay for a storage unit.
The equipment is about a 10ft cube, but a future steward likely could trim this somewhat.

Events:
Otters Welcome Ottercrat Lady Astrid Eiriksdottir:
A couple of numbers may change, if so, they will be updated next month. First: no injuries. Second: Projected expenses were $1035, actual $875.95.
Exchequer: $295 dollars profit at the moment, but some is reserved against possible late expenses.
The site tokens were donated but did not reach the site in time. As they are not year specific, they can be held for a future Otter’s welcome.
The Autocrat box now contains sheets with a QR code that links to the Barony website.
The Autocrat box was missing some items, and needs to be inventoried and refilled.
Many members of the order of the Comet offered their hands at the last minute when there was a shortage of volunteers. Please remember that we need people to step up if we want to hold events.
Thank you to all the people who leant a hand in any capacity, from major organizational roles, to carry a chair or two during setup.
Aaradyn: How many people did we have? And how many newcomers?
106 total adults, 25 kids.
25 Non-members.
Falling Leaves Lady Patience Faircloth
No update from the lead autocrat. If you responded that you were interested in producing the dayboard/mealplan, you should receive an e-mail in the next week, please keep an eye out.
Carolingia 50 Year Lady Patience Faircloth
Preparations for the event proceeding. No update this month.
New Events
Rapier champions Lady Cassandra
Rapier Championships will be on July 10th, from 12:30 to 6 at the Plymouth Church. There may also be a regional rapier tourney. There is an indoor space with kitchen and bathroom available, but the event should be mostly outside.
The site is $350 including named insurers fee. $10 a head would require 35 attendees, children under 6 free.
A $50 slush fund is requested for what expenses.
Council Approves.
Trentus Nubianus will be MOL. Richard Heyworth will hopefully be available to voice herald. Rowan will be running the tournament. Pre-reg will be sign up only, payment on site, because the short turn around makes paypal problematic.
As mentioned above, this will also serve as the Low Company meeting location for throwing things at other things.
Aaradyn: Ice Cream and Whiskey Truffles are both in walking distance.
General announcements:
None.
