Through November 30th, you can request a mask variance for your practice or gathering. Please e-mail Aaradyn if you haven’t received a form for your practice. After Nov 30th, request must go through kingdom.
There are supposed to be seneschal office hours in October to explain this to the seneschals. Aaradyn will attend.

Events:
Baronial Heavy List championships will be on Oct 15th at the regular baronial fighter practice. There is no fee to attend, spectators welcome. This non-event is entirely outside. Garb is appreciated (indeterminate if it is required).
Is this listed on the Baronial calendar? No. But it has gone out over e-mail and facebook.

Falling Leaves Lady Katla of Vyborg
Falling leaves was a great success. The event made $970, partly because certain expenses were not required (prizes, portacastles).
192 Attendees. 25-30 newcomers. 29 Children. Sunday’s numbers are a little less determinate, but 31 people showed up for Sunday only. At least 3 families were newcomers.
223 people, 188 adults, 35 children. Thanks to Orlando for dayboard.

Aaradyn: Thank you for Autocratting
50 year Lady Patience Faircloth
It’s been a while since the last 50 year update. If the Barony is willing, I am proposing it be held in combination with falling leaves 2023. Multiple co-autocrats have stepped up Trentus, Katla, Irini, and Kassandra. The hope is for ~400 attendees, so the number of co-autocrats will hopefully drive a larger event. The autocrat team has not yet met to hammer out details.
The hope is to have more definition by November.
Clock: I would like alcohol and fire at Carolingia 50 year, and neither is permitted at the 4h site?
Patience: The decision to move to the Falling Leaves site is recent enough that we have not yet coordinated with them.
Pandaulf:
How many events would this mean next year?
Aaradyn: We would only have two. But we need more autocrats to step up in order to have more events.
Justin: What is the capacity of the falling leaves site?
Patience: Not at this time.
Katla: The bathrooms only support 200 people, but the site is not limited. The parking lot, however, is limited in scale.

Richard: Do we want to discuss, at some point, what the criteria are for requesting variances on a baronial basis.
Aaradyn: We were discussing that prior to the BoD announcement, and CDC data was discussed.
Lots of discussion basically amounting to “it’s impossible to plan this significantly in advance based on current uncertainty, both epidemiologically and policy”.
General announcements:
Frithuric: There is now a planning calendar on the kingdom website. Seneschals and Baronage can post events. The calendar is intended to allow posting of events during the planning stages to allow groups to coordinate in advance of formal announcements.
Arlyana: Sunday october 30th: 10-1. Spooky shoot at Peter and Arlyanna’s in Carlisle. Come in costume or in garb.
Arisia 2023 is happening (probably). MLK weekend, 13th-16th. There will be a rennaisance ball acting as an SCA demo. Waytes will likely be playing.
