Waytes Lady Ysabel da Costa

Needleworkers Lord Donato Favro

Needleworkers has had it’s first meeting and another next week.

Events:

Fall Crown:
All positions from last time have been filled. There are a few logistical issues still open, including limited handicaped seating, and the resulting need to sequence activities.

Keep an eye out for call for items for the next couple of weeks. (Carpets for thrones and on field disability seating, as chairs aren’t allowed directly on dirt. Q: Where exactly at Topsfield. We are at the horse arena.

?: Can we put chairs on carpets on the field.

A: We can, but it is supposed to be minimized, so it will be limited to disability seating and similar.
Loki: What is it going to look like for the fighters setting up in the area. A dressing stool or something should be okay. The site coordinator didn’t seem to have an issue with participants, but only spectators.

Ysabel: Should we expect indoor or outdoor temperatures? Expect outdoor temperatures without wind.
A: I don’t believe I saw an HVAC system. Donato will check next weekend. It is a metal ceiling without insulation, so probably not warm. Update, it has limited heating.

Q: They will allow snacks for the fighters, but what other food will they have available? Do we need to give them numbers?
A: No, we have given them expected attendance for the concession stand to provide food, and they are expecting those numbers. They are working on permitting a beer stand.

I have also asked if their Majesties to be are okay with other activities setting up on the site. If they are there is space for meetings and such.

Future Events
Peregrine the Illuminator: Site steward for Winternights in 2019. We are looking at bringing this event back out of the virtual world, looking at January 20th or 27th. Inquiring if people in the Barony are interested in holding this event. This weekend is after Arisia, and before Bardic Champions.

Info: One of these weekends is likely Birka depending on Democratic Convention.

Peregrine: Looking at Veasey Memorial Park again, so if there’s a warm spell, we can have an outdoor portion. This event is to bring together different types of performers, and challenge them to perform. Paired performers challenge each other to a subject, and the partner has to find or create a piece to fit the theme. Newcomers are welcome, and we will encourage senior people to find challenges that fir their repertoires. This is deliberately a low stakes event, with an event champion selected by popular acclaim, and to bring people to new experiences.

At the last event, we had a spread at each break during the competition for dayboard. Court, if desired, at 6pm. After Carolingia 50 and Crown, this might be a good smaller, more relaxed event. $20/person, 40 attendees would be break even. 40-60 people expected.

Q: Is a Kitchener lined up yet?
A:Not yet. This is often a good event for someone without feast experience to be paired with a mentor.

Q: Are you expecting to be the Autocrat?
A: While I am anticipating being the autocrat, I would appreciate finding a Deputy for day of things that would allow me to participate in the challenges.

Approved to move forward, with a presentation at November council.

Q: Is this expected to be jointly with the Canton, or Baronial only?
A: That would be excellent.

P: I will be coming to Towers to talk with them about this event.
